Fife’s best hope for state title shot

When the high school sports year comes to its conclusion on the final championship weekend, there’s usually some Fife Trojans in the mix. This year has a bit of a different look, but Fife is going to be well-represented throughout several sports.

With memories of a 3-1 defeat in the 2016 2A championship game adding some fuel to the fire, the Fife fastpitch team will be making another run at the big trophy. After navigating through a stacked field at the 2A West Central District tournament for a fifth seed to state, the Trojans will be making their state entry as a dark horse pick, instead of a surefire favorite to win it all. Perhaps this is just the sort of path the Trojans have needed to get their hands on the state fastpitch title.
